We are now officially half way through the build season!
The conveyor belt was attached to the chassis, and Jean, Karthik, Ashwin, and the team tried to test collide the robot to an older MVRT robot. Of course, the issue of the weight as a factor of the robot tipping forward and backward came up. The solution: Duct tape the Electronic textbooks that Mr. Shinta has to the chassis of the older robot!! It took about 20 of those books to make up the required 60 or so pounds. Lets do some math. 20 books to 60 pounds means each book is three pounds! And us Monta Vistans carry one or two of those in our backpacks ( weight is varied ) and then a few binders or more which would weigh 5 more pounds, and possibly 1 or 2 textbooks in our hands. Now, don't you think our backs are going to die because of all the insane amount of textbooks we have to carry?
Alright, back on task. So, the robot apparently survived the crash test. While all of this was going on, Cristian was "inventoring". Guess what?! He was creating the designs for a stool! Yes ladies and gentlemen, a stool. It was quite funny. And onlookers were admiring...
In the next room, laptops were set out around one of the tables, and everyone was "labviewing" as usual. We had interesting discussions about autism, crimping and accidentally poking eyes out, and unsteady hands. Yes, it was an interesting day.
Not to mention Mike's "interaction" with hot sauce. That was mildly gross and funny.
